In partnership with Larne Football Club

For those who aren’t familiar with the Larne FC story they have risen out of the ashes and re-written the history books. A once struggling amateur club with a ground that was condemned to becoming back-to-back winners of the Northern Ireland Danske Bank Premiership. More importantly, the initial investor’s vision to have the Champions League music playing at Inver Park became a reality in 2024! As the club has grown on the pitch and become more professional, their was an appetite to now do the same off the pitch.

Working specifically with the CEO, Niall Curneen we focused on three specific areas for development;

  1. The commercial strategy
  2. Identifying gaps and finding resolutions
  3. Developing the Senior Team

After a Discovery Clinic to analyse their current state, we hit the ground running. We developed a strategy which would give the senior leadership team more accountability and responsibility, which in turn actually created more time and space. Football clubs are dynamic environments and we often had to be agile with our approach.

Over a 12-month period, we developed the CEO to develop the Senior Leadership Team and found solutions to the gaps we identified. The outcomes were;

  • Operational Excellence with higher standards of performance
  • The creation of partnerships where businesses can activate their brands using Larne’s real estate
  • A scientific approach to asset value which in turn created higher sponsorship revenue

Working with Niall Curneen and Kenny Bruce MBE was everything you would want a working relationship to be: open, honest, and fun. I look forward to crossing paths with you both again very soon.

Here are Niall’s thoughts and feelings about his experience;

“As a ‘silent guide’ to a CEO operating in an industry that he himself has never worked in, I have found this support to be game-changing. His calm and simple approach navigates to a positive outcome in every situation I have worked with him in.

His emotional intelligence gives him the ability to unlock hidden potential that exists way below the surface. He just has the ability to see things in such a simple way.

I am privileged to be able to have Ben within my personal and professional network and he has extended many new opportunities towards both my business and me personally through his own powerful network of contacts and professionals.”

Niall Cureen, CEO
